Street Soccer @ Chua Chu Kang Stadium
23 Feb 2006

I was lost in my own world, daydreaming of a romantic night of candle light dinner and nice champagne with the girl of my dreams, when I was brought back to reality by the shrill whistle blow from the referee.

There I was, at the Chua Chu Kang Stadium for the APP Street Soccer Competition! Here's a quick introduction to the APP soccer stars and their respective teams up for the challenge for the coveted APP Cup Championship......

Fantastic 4 : Jasmani, Casper, Hyzal, Mohairy and Hassan
Sure-Win : Darren Tan, Rudy, Shi Li and Thomas
LeeCooper : Gary Wang, Kok Wei, Dylan, Wee Kiong and Gary Goh
Invincibles : Shawn, Toh, Moe and Darren Chan
Golden balls : Prabha, Fouzee, John and Nagaraju
Dream Team : Salem, Joel, Kumar and Cheok

Ole-ole-ole! What an exciting game as the teams battled it out in knock out matches! After a hard and fierce battle, the game ended with Fantastic 4 as the champion and Sure-Win closely behind as the first runner-up. Second runner-up went to LeeCooper followed by Invincibles and Golden Balls in the fourth and fifth positions.

The mystery for the night (C.S.I. APP):

What happened to the Dream Team? None of the team members turned up for the event. Reason for being absent: Unknown. Whatever it is, this dream team has instead turned into a dream...

Pulau Ubin Cycling Trip
4 March 2006

It was a beautiful Saturday morning with blue skies and white clouds, just the perfect weather to visit Pulau Ubin, as we gathered at Changi Jetty to board the bum boats.

Calm seas and cool breezes kept us company along the boat journey. Once we reached the island, we headed straight for the bicycle shop to rent bicycles and start our cycling trip around the island. It was a tough challenge like an obstacle course as the roads were full of humps and potholes, but we encouraged each other along the way.

It was a nice and refreshing experience to spend a day in this rural area, away from the urban landscape we are so accustomed to. Along the way, we saw fishponds, swamps and hermit crabs.

At noon time, we cycled back to the bicycle shop to return the bikes before heading back to the main land for some delicious Indian fish head curry at Changi Village. That was definitely well deserved after all the hard cycling!
