APP Golf Open 2005
4
June 2005, Palm Resort Golf &
Country Club
APP Golf 2005 went
off without a hitch for the 3rd
year in a row. The challenging Palm
Resort Cempaka course was selected,
in view with the improving standard
of APP golfers. Perfect day greeted
all golfers and many prizes are
awarded to the deserving players.
The day started with Gary Wang’s
“shot of the day”. For those who do
not play golf, he holed a golf ball
from Cheok’s room to George’s mug in
the room. This excellent shot can
only be matched with Lee Song Lin’s
straightest shot of the day. The fun
filled day was packed with prizes
including best dress award (Regina
Yeo), Most Enthusiastic prize
(Janice Choo), most improved player
(Eric Soh), nearest to Pin (Wilson
Wong) and lots more. The event ended
with all happy golfers who are
eagerly looking for the 2006
tournament. (Not surprising, as APP
golf has the most lenient handicap
system in Singapore)
“Reason
the pro tells you to keep your head
down is so you can't see him
laughing”
“Some
says golf is like life, but don't
believe them. Golf is more
complicated than that”

REAL Run ’05
(Road 6km / Sand 1.6km / Trail
2.4km)
28
August 2005, Sentosa Gateway Carpark

28th
August 2004 was a day of real action
in Sentosa as over 5,000 running
enthusiasts took part in the New
Balance REAL Run ’05. Undeterred by
the scorching weather, the
participants’ spirits soared in
anticipation of the ultimate
cross-terrain challenge.
APP was represented by 12
participants and the competitive
stretch took them on an adrenaline
rush through the landmarks of
Sentosa on a grueling route of 6.0km
road from the Gateway carpark, 1.6km
of sandy beach and into the
challenging 2.4km trail behind
Volcano Land before reaching the
ending point at the Gateway carpark.
Congratulations to Gary Wang for
achieving the best time in APP.
Let’s see if anyone can break his
record next year. See you in the
next REAL run 2006!

Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration
cum BBQ Nite ‘05
16
September 2005, APP Enterprise
Building Rooftop
APP’s
Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration was
an enjoyable occasion to remember.
At 7pm, our colleagues and invited
guests from APP Engineering and Opto-Precision
started to arrive. By this time, the
guys were feeling famished and
thrilled to start barbecuing the
sumptuous spread of seasoned chicken
wings, stingrays, satays, otahs and
other delicious local delights of
the Tropicana.
Soon, the sky turned dusky and the
lanterns started to glow. A mini
candle was carefully placed on each
table. Such a beautiful ambience
with the moon shining brightly in
the midst of sparkling stars gave a
wonderful feeling of a romantic
night.
Shortly, Mr S.L. Lee started the
celebration by cutting the moon
cakes and everyone was happily
enjoying the assorted flavoured moon
cakes.
A series of interesting games of
riddles and charade livened up the
atmosphere and made the event even
more exciting and unforgettable!
Finally, it came to a close for the
day. We could see the beaming faces
of colleagues and guests and there
was a string of nonstop praises for
the delicious food and fine wine.
Last but not least, we would like to
extend our gratitude to the
Management and staff for their
support and assistance in making
this event a success!
